Each exam in the Journal Watch Online CME program contains 4 questions on 4 separate summaries from the Journal Watch archives. Each exam is topic-based, and successful completion of all 4 questions is required to earn CME credit. New exams will be added regularly. The Journal Watch Online CME Program has been approved for AMA PRA category 1 credit and AAFP Prescribed credit.

EXAM AVAILABILITY

New CME exams are available every 2 weeks. Exams are developed from Journal Watch summaries and are categorized by topic on the Exam Categories page. In addition, summaries with corresponding CME exams are identified throughout the Journal Watch website. You will be prompted to purchase exams, if you do not have an exam balance.

ONLINE CME PRICING

Subscribers
As a paid subscriber to a Journal Watch newsletter you are eligible to take 10 Journal Watch Online CME exams free each year. These exams are included with your paid subscription.

Additional online exams can be purchased at the preferred subscriber rate of $10 per exam.

Bundles of 5 online exams can be purchased for $30, and bundles of 10 online exams can be purchased for $50; the exams can be taken at any time.

Nonsubscribers
Individuals who do not subscribe to a Journal Watch newsletter may purchase exams for $15 per exam. This fee includes full-text access to the summaries related to the exam.

Bundles of 5 online exams can be purchased for $60, and bundles of 10 online exams can be purchased at the rate of $100; the exams can be taken at any time.

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION

The Massachusetts Medical Society designates each exam of this educational activity for a maximum of 1 category 1 credit toward the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA). Each physician should claim only those credits that he or she actually spent on the activity.

The Massachusetts Medical Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Journal Watch Online CME Program tracks your AMA PRA CME credits.

Each exam has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to .5 Prescribed credit by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Term of approval is for one year from the distribution date of each exam, with option to request yearly renewal.

The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts Prescribed credit from AAFP and AMA category 1 CME credit for the PRA from organizations accredited by ACCME.
