GOAL
The goal of the Journal Watch Online CME Program is to provide
physicians with expedient, quality continuing medical education.
OBJECTIVES
The educational objectives of the Journal Watch Online CME Program
are to encourage participants to increase their knowledge of important
advances in all fields of medicine. By providing a surveillance of current
medical journals, the program stimulates physicians to read the original
articles in areas that are applicable to their practice. In addition,
this program is designed to help physicians apply gained knowledge to
the care and treatment of patients.
AUDIENCE
This program is designed for physicians and other clinicians who provide
patient care; who wish to advance their current knowledge of clinical
medicine; and who wish to keep abreast of advances in medical research.
CME CREDITS
The Massachusetts Medical Society designates each exam of this educational
activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Physicians
should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The Journal Watch Online CME Program tracks your AMA PRA
Credits.
The Massachusetts Medical Society is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing
medical education for physicians.
AAFP CREDIT
Each exam has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to .5 Prescribed
credit by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
Term of approval is for one year from the distribution date of each
exam, with option to request yearly renewal.
AAPA CREDIT
The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts Prescribed
credit from AAFP and AMA Category 1 CME credit for the PRA from organizations
accredited by ACCME.
