Objectives: The educational objectives of the Journal Watch General Medicine Print CME Program are to encourage participants to increase their basic knowledge of important advances in all areas of general medicine, to stimulate them to read the original articles in areas that are applicable to their practice, and to help participants integrate this knowledge into their practice. It is anticipated that, by answering the questions, the participants will be further encouraged to read the original articles. It is the goal of the Journal Watch General Medicine Print CME Program to encourage the participants to read in depth a larger number of articles appropriate to their specialty and to incorporate knowledge obtained into their practice. Accreditation: The Massachusetts Medical Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit: AMA: The Massachusetts Medical Society designates this journal-based CME activity for a maximum of 50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. AAFP: This Enduring Material activity, Journal Watch Print CME has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 50 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP certification begins January 1, 2012. Term of approval is for one year from this date. Each Journal Watch Exam is approved for 25 Prescribed credits. Credit may be claimed for one year from the date of each Journal Watch Exam. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. AAPA: The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts Prescribed credit from the AAFP and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by ACCME.
